INTRODUCTION

Purpose
The main purpose of this document is to demonstrate that HSE does play one of the leading roles in the Company’s business. We want to emphasise that we are very serious about the positive approach to environment protection and health and safety of our staff and contractors.

Scope
This Policy applies to all Kodeco Energy operations and activities, whether carried out at Kodeco Energy sites or at other locations under the direct management control of Kodeco Energy.

• Earn the confidence of our internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure that HSE is the responsibility of all Kodeco Energy and Contractor staff.
• Apply and demonstrate a systematic and integrated approach to HSE management to achieve continual performance improvement and prevent adverse pollution, health and safety impacts.
• Manage HSE in line with our shareholders’ business principles.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and the Standards and other requirements to which we subscribe.
• Set minimum HSE expectations, objectives and targets for improvement, and report our performance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote HSE awareness and assure competence to control our HSE risks.
• Identify HSE hazards and reduce risks to a level that is As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
• Require EVERYONE TO STOP ANY WORK, or PREVENT WORK STARTING, where
  adequate controls to manage HSE risk are not in place.
• Require all individuals to report all incidents and near misses.
• Include HSE performance in the appraisal of staff and Contractor companies.
• Conduct audits, incident investigations and review to ensure the effective implementation of this Policy.
• Maintain external certification of our HSE Management System against a recognized,
  independent system standard.
• Require and assist Contractor companies to manage HSE in line with this Policy.
